The comprehensive scholarship for this training post includes:
- the tuition fee to study the MSc Applied Data Science (Environment and Sustainability) at the University of Exeter starting in September 2022 with a stipend of £15,851 to cover UK living expenses for one year
- £818 to cover the associated student visa and health surcharge costs
- a salary of 15,000 ZAR per month while undertaking a work-based internship employed by the CSA in South Africa for a following 12 to 18 months and
- a training support grant of £2,000.
You can apply for this training post scholarship if you:
- are a citizen of an African Nation and are classified as an International student for fees purposes
- have obtained or expect to obtain a qualification equivalent to a First or Upper Second Class UK Honours degree, in an appropriate area of science or technology
- have a technical foundation in rangeland management, sustainable development, physical geography, conservation science, environmental science, computer science or a related subject
- have basic numeracy and programming skills to enable you to undertake basic quantitative analysis of environmental data and
- can demonstrate an understanding of rangeland management options, a willingness to conduct fieldwork in remote locations, and a passion to inform ecosystem management to sustain ecosystem services and have a positive impact in society.
You will also need to be able to work and drive in the Republic of South Africa.
