Wind Energy Commission Award in Music Composition

Criteria

To be considered for this award, the candidate must:

• Be enrolled full-time in the Music diploma or degree program and
• Be in good standing.

The commission is to be completed outside of class assignments and the recipient of the commission is encouraged to dialogue and work with the ensemble director and Head of Composition during the composition process.

Selection of Award

A committee consisting of the Head of the Composition department, the Chair of the Music Department, and one Music faculty member will select the recipient. The committee may, at their discretion, add one additional member at large.

Students must apply directly to the Head of Composition based on criteria established by the Music Program. Commission selection will be made by January 31st of each year.

Typically given out in the Winter term.

Disbursement Criteria

The commission must be completed and signed off by the Head of Composition prior to the award cheque being issued.
