The Professor Mike Walker OBE Scholarship

This scholarship is available for a full or part-time postgraduate student, with International fee status, studying for one of the courses listed within the School of Engineering, Physical and Mathematical Sciences. You must have achieved, or be on target to achieve, a minimum of a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent, and not have the financial means to undertake further study without this scholarship. You will need to clearly demonstrate this in the application. You must have an offer to study for one of the following Royal Holloway Masters courses: Information Security - MSc Information Security, MSc Information Security with a Year in Industry. Computer Science - MSc Computer Science by Research, MSc Artificial Intelligence, MSc Computational Finance, MSc Data Science and Analytics, MSc Machine Learning. Mathematics - MSc Mathematics for Applications, MSc Mathematics of Cryptography and Communications. Please note: Only students applying to study for their first Masters degree will be considered for this scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee reduction of up to the value of £12,000 (if the tuition fee is less than £12,000 the scholarship will only cover the value of the tuition fee). For part-time students, this will be split over two years (first 2 years of study only). Where an award is made to applicant on a two-year full-time Masters course, no additional payment or tuition fee remission is offered in the second year of a two-year Masters degree. A student who receives full fee reduction as part of this award will not be eligible for any tuition fee discounts (including alumni discounts) in conjunction with this scholarship.
