UC International Accommodation Scholarship 2022

Applicants must have been studying at secondary level in New Zealand in the year of application (or, in the case of a gap year1 in the year immediately prior).

Recipients must be full-fee-paying international students and be 18 years of age or over by the official course start date.

By the closing date advertised on the webpage for UC halls of residence, applicants must:

a. Complete the separate UC Application for Accommodation online form, selecting Ilam Apartments (Hinau – 5 Bed Apartment (41 weeks, fully-catered)) as their first preference for accommodation and b. Complete the New Zealand Common Confidential Reference Form.

Applicants may not be: a. Citizens of New Zealand or Australia b. Permanent Residents of Australia or c. Holders of New Zealand residence class visas.
Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: First year enrolment in an undergraduate programme at the University of Canterbury.
Tenure: Two years.
Value/Benefits:
a. Full cost of accommodation at Ilam Apartments in first year of study.
b. NZ $5,000 towards the cost of accommodation at Ilam Apartments, or equivalent UC accommodation, in the second year of study.
c. Additional support and assistance during residence in Ilam Apartments, including a Residential Assistant with international student experience to support.
