Nominee must be engaged in the study of living or fossil organisms
Selection based on academic accomplishment
Selection based on the merit of the travel proposal
Supports travel expenses for research, collection of data, library, archive, museum/collection, or other universities for training where student will interact w/ colleagues & receive information/advice re: student's research
If no suitable candidate can be found, this award may also be used to support travel to a scientific meeting or conference
