The scholarship is intended to provide assistance for the nominee's research program
The value of the scholarship is variable each department may choose to nominate one nominee at full value, or two nominees at half value, providing that the half value is no less than CAN $3,450
In nominating a nominee for this scholarship, the departments may take financial need into consideration
Open to Canadian citizens.

Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
