John Garrett Graduate Scholarship in United States Studies

Superior Academic Standing (equivalent to a grade point average of 3.5 or greater)
Department of Economics or Department of Political Science
Awarded for the study of problematic aspects of Canada-United States relations, or for the dissemination of scholarly information in this field of study
Awarded on the basis of research potential
Awarded on the basis of superior academic standing
In odd-numbered years awarded to a nominee registered in the Department of Economics and in even-numbered years awarded to a nominee registered in the Department of Political Science
In the event that a nominee cannot be found in the specified department, the scholarship may be awarded to a nominee registered in the other department
In nominating a nominee for the scholarship the departments may take financial need into consideration
Open to Canadian citizens.
Open to permanent residents.
Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
Open to applicants in masters programs.
Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.
