Waterloo Special Graduate Student Entrance Award (Also Known as New Faculty Award)

• The new full-time faculty member must hold a professorial tenured or tenure track appointment or cross‐appointment in a department with a graduate program and have been hired within the last two years.
• The faculty member must be eligible to supervise a graduate student who is working on a thesis.
• The maximum funds per faculty member are CAN $5,500, to be used exclusively to support one or more newly admitted full-time graduate students (preferably domestic) in term one or two of their graduate program.

The purpose of this award is to encourage new faculty members to undertake supervision of new full-time graduate students in keeping with the University of Waterloo's vision for Graduate Expansion. On the recommendation of a new faculty member, the student will receive a CAN $5,500 award.
