Allan and Cynthia Arnold Graduate Scholarship in Engineering

An entrance scholarship, valued at up to CAN $5000, will be awarded annually to an international graduate student registered full-time in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering. Preference will be given to students in a research-based Master's program if a suitable candidate cannot be found, the scholarship may be given to an international doctoral student. Selection will be based on academic excellence (minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent) in the recipient's most recent, relevant degree program.

Eligibility & selection criteria:

Full-time international graduate students registered in a research-based Master's program entering their first term in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering. If a suitable international Master's candidate cannot be found, international PhD students can be considered.
If a suitable international candidate cannot be found in the pool of applicants, domestic students can be selected.
The award will be given based on academic excellence, a minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent in their most recent, relevant degree program.
When the scholarship value is less than CAN $5000, it will be paid in one installment. Once the scholarship value is CAN $5000, it will be paid in equal installments over two terms.
This award can be held in conjunction with any other major awards.
This scholarship is in addition to any guaranteed minimum funding the recipient may have been offered by their program at Waterloo.
The Engineering Graduate Studies Office will identify and select a candidate based on their application for admission normally each Spring, starting in Spring of 2022.
