Wellington Kahotea Scholarship - (School Leaver Scholarships for Outstanding Achievements)

The scholarship package includes full accommodation costs at a Victoria University of Wellington Hall of Residence in your first year, plus a stipend for three years. For students who are not in a Hall, the stipend can be taken uniformly across the three years or weighted higher over the first year.

• Applicants are automatically considered for a Kahotea Scholarship upon application for a Totoweka Scholarship, and the top Tangiwai Scholarship applicants will be considered. To be considered a top Tangiwai applicant, it is expected applicants will have achieved at least 100 NCEA Excellence credits (or the equivalent in another qualification) in Year 12. These Excellence credits can be at Level 2 and/or at Level 3, but must have been attained in Year 12.
• Applicants will then be considered based on achievement within the areas of culture, community involvement, leadership, or equity.
• Recipients must meet all the criteria and regulations of either the Wellington Tangiwai or the Wellington Totoweka Scholarship.
