Shorelight Education creates life changing experiences for students worldwide. It partners with top U.S. universities to expand their reach far beyond the traditional campus and help talented international students thrive, graduate and become successful, globally-minded alumni. Shorelight Education partners with Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) which is a public university located in the southeastern United States (Montgomery, Alabama). It offers a variety of courses to international students. AUM ranks among the South's top universities by U.S. News and World Report. Consistently chosen the best university in the area, Auburn Montgomery provides students with detailed knowledge and hands-on, practical experience, often from professionals in the field.
Auburn University at Montgomery offers students 90 different majors within five separate colleges of study: Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Public Policy and Justice. Classes at AUM are intimate and personalized with a 16:1 student to teacher ratio. For students who are looking for an even more rigorous and focused curriculum, AUM offers a University Honors Program, which requires students to apply for special selection. This program provides even smaller classroom settings and additional benefits for those selected, such as additional scholarship opportunities and private lounge access on campus. AUM is unique and offers some specialized educational programs that are not available elsewhere, including Cybersystems and Information Security, Geographic Information Systems, and Homeland Security. It also offers online learning and weekend courses for an even more customizable college experience.
The campus at AUM spans about 500 acres and only houses an estimated ten percent of the student body, which is comprised of around 5,000 students. AUM offers its students three different apartment-style residence halls for those who choose to live on campus, but the majority of students commute from elsewhere around the city. The campus is located about seven miles from downtown Montgomery.
