Established in 1996, the Academy of Interactive Entertainment is recognised as Australia's peak non-profit Registered Training Organisation for the Australian Video Games, 3D animation and related industries. Specialising in 3D computer graphics, games programming and design education, it provides real pathways to employment via training approved by industry and delivered by industry experienced teachers. AIE has close ties with many leading industry players and has won a number of awards for excellence in education development and delivery.

Students have a choice of four campuses, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra or Adelaide. Both Sydney and Canberra campuses are co-sited with established games companies and offer genuine industry training creating 3D or games product in teams. AIE Campuses are in cities that have been consistently ranked by the OECD as amongst the best cities in the world for students in terms of student mix, affordability, quality of life, and employer activity.
