The College of New Caledonia has been an integral part of post-secondary education in northern B.C. since 1969. The college takes great pride in being connected to the diverse people and communities they serve. CNC six community campuses offer educational opportunities to a service area spanning 117,500 square kilometers. It offers a full range of Career, Technical, Vocational, and University Credit programming.
At CNC, students get so much more than an education whether it is continuing on to a big university or launching career, the college prepares students for their next phase in life. It also helps students build and develop life skills. CNC provides students with small class sizes which enables instructors to know students well and deliver individual attention and encouragement to help students succeed.
Student activities occur year-round, providing a varied schedule of fun events like sightseeing trips to Jasper and the Ancient Forest, ski trips, movie nights, potluck lunches, dances, sports and more. Also, there are plenty of Leadership opportunities at CNC. If students are interested in enhancing their leadership skills, they can volunteer in a wide range of activities from hosting and organizing cultural and student events to fundraising. Once students have completed their volunteer work, they also will receive a leadership certificate from the International Student Leadership & Ambassadorship Program. Graduates of this program also receive a letter of reference from the department which can be used as part of their university applications.
Students college experience goes far beyond their campus and classrooms and the College of New Caledonia understand this better. In Prince George, students will be immersed in a city of 80,000 that maintains a small-town energy and a vibrant college vibe. Students can enjoy a leisurely Saturday morning at their favorite coffee shop or, depending on the season, stroll through one of the many shopping malls, listen to music in the park, or go skiing or snowboarding at a nearby hill.
