Hillsborough Community College was founded in 1968 as a part of the 28-member Florida College System. It is dedicated to creating the best environment for teaching and learning. HCC offers students many pathways to a bachelor's degree. The associate in arts degree is an affordable option for international students who want to complete prerequisite courses for hundreds of possible transfer majors. The college educates more than 47,000 students each year, and its more than 190 academic options are supported by more than 2,200 dedicated faculty and staff members wholly focused on student success. As an HCC graduate, the students are guaranteed entry into one of the 11 Florida state universities. The college also has a longstanding tradition of responsiveness to meeting the needs of business and industry through their workforce degree and certificate programs.
Hillsborough Community College has five primary campuses, three satellite locations and the Institute for Corporate and Continuing Education (ICCE) located adjacent to the Dr. Gwendolyn W. Stephenson District Administration Center on Davis Islands. The College also has the Hawks Landing Student Apartment Complex and the HCC Tennis Complex located at the Dale Mabry Campus.
