Hawthorn-Melbourne English Language Centre is one of Australia's largest and longest established English language schools. Established in 1986, it has been preparing students for further study in Australia for over 30 years. English for High School program, developing academic English language skills for high school and is accepted by 29 Victorian high school partners. The Centre helps students to develop independent study skills and to focus on individual learning needs such as pronunciation, business or writing. It is an association representing over 100 schools committed to delivering the highest quality education and support services.
The centre has 15 direct entry pathways to Victorian universities, colleges and institutions. Its teachers have internationally recognised TESOL qualifications and an average of 3,800 face-to-face teaching hours. Each year, Hawthorn-Melbourne teaches English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students to more than 1900 students from all over the world. Further Studies Advisors are always available to discuss the progress and provide advice. It has a range of student services to help students adapt to life in Melbourne, Australia and work towards English goals.
Hawthorn-Melbourne is located on the University of Melbourne's Hawthorn campus. The campus is 8km from the city and well serviced by trains, trams and buses. Outside the classroom students can make friends, practise English and have fun with the sporting, cultural and outdoor programs and excursion program.
