ICHM was established in 1992 by the State Government of South Australia, the Swiss Hotel Association (SHA) and the Lipman family to be the hotel school of choice for the industry professionals of tomorrow. Visionary ICHM founder, Rex Lipman based the degrees on a commitment to excellence with a belief the finest education and training are essential for producing graduates who are internationally ready to take up senior roles in the highly competitive hotel and hospitality industry. The college welcomed its first intake of students in the same year the prestigious Swiss Hotel School's Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne celebrated its first 100 years.
ICHM's Bachelor Degree and Masters programme are equivalent to university qualifications, and students are able to tap into our extensive industry partner network. The unique pairing of academic excellence and industry based learning helps deliver exceptional employment outcomes. 87% of ICHM graduates secure immediate employment upon graduation. Programmes are delivered by industry respected lecturers. Their dedication to teaching, and ICHM's small class sizes, ensure the learning experience is one of quality and students receive individual attention and support.
ICHM is located in Adelaide, which is routinely voted by the Economist Intelligence Unit as one of the World's top ten most liveable cities. With a population of just over 1.2 million people, Adelaide is the capital city of South Australia and considered to be the lifestyle capital of Australia. Adelaide has world-class art and music and a festival calendar to rival or better that of any other Australian city.
