Established in 1856, St Catherine's School is proud to be Australia's oldest independent Anglican girls school. The purpose of the school is to develop young women of character and intellect who are equipped to make their unique contribution to the world.
St Catherine's caters for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12, and for boarding students from Years 7 to 12. The school welcomes girls from all backgrounds and respect the different strengths of each student, acknowledging that diversity enriches our community.
The teachers embrace the latest educational research balancing clear instruction with engagement. They help each girl to learn in the way that is right for her, giving her the academic rigor, she needs and the tools she can use to flourish at school. When she leaves, it is the aim of school to make her well educated, well rounded and well balanced, ready for further study, ready for life.
Academic Challenge is part of a learning philosophy that will help students to become accomplished. Students can then approach their final years at school with the confidence they will need to enter university and the career to which they aspire.
St Catherine's School is in Sydney's eastern suburbs close to magnificent Centennial Park and the University of New South Wales. Some of Australia's most famous beaches including Bondi and Bronte are a short walk or bus ride away.
