Established in 1980, Sunraysia Institute of TAFE is one of the largest providers of vocational education and training in north-west Victoria. It provides a wide range of vocational courses to help prospective students become work ready. Some of the courses offered are in the areas of skills shortages that includes horticulture, conservation and land management, irrigation, business, transport and distribution, health and community services, commercial cookery and hospitality, building and construction, engineering, automotive and other trades. The Institute also specializes in multimedia, visual arts and language and literacy training.
SuniTAFE today is a vibrant institute with two main campuses located at Mildura and Swan Hill, a rural campus at Robinvale, and a training farm at Cardross near Mildura. Through the use of technology and a commitment to building educational partnerships that improve opportunities for students, the Institute's reach now extends far beyond the boundaries of its geographic location.
The institute has more than 8000 local students and many international students studying from 16 countries. Student Support Services department provides free and confidential services to students and staff across all SuniTAFE campuses. Services include disability support, information, resources, counselling and referral services which meet individual student needs.
