On 6 February 1961, 86 students from Prep to Year 8 arrived at The Peninsula School. Today there are over 1,400 bright students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Peninsula Grammar is a day and boarding school for students from three-year-old Kindergarten to Year 12. It sees learning not just as a path to university and a career, but also as a path to wellbeing. Peninsula Grammar School is renowned for the depth of learning opportunities it provides to each child. As the preeminent coeducational day and boarding school on the Mornington Peninsula, the school has a proud history of academic success, sporting triumph and an unrivalled landscape of learning.
The international students benefit from the specialized facility of English Language Centre, where they can hone their English skills before entering the mainstream classrooms. It also has many students studying on five campuses in China, where their excellent VCE results help them achieve a university place in the highly competitive Chinese system, or they can choose to study in Australia. The students' achievements are testament to the dedication and expertise of teachers, who enjoy a close relationship with the students at all year levels. This personal knowledge gives them a good appreciation of what each student needs, educationally and socially.
Peninsula Grammar is located 55kms from the Melbourne CBD in the beautiful, seaside suburb of Mt Eliza. The campus occupies 35 hectares of parkland. The facilities comprise four sub-schools Early Childhood Centre, Junior Years, Middle Years, Pre-Senior Year 9, and Senior Years - an outstanding VCE Senior Centre, Science building and Performing Arts Centre. Mt. Eliza is part of the Mornington Peninsula, a popular tourist region with its many wineries, beaches, and golf courses.
