奥克兰坐落于新西兰北岛中的偏北地带，面朝着太平洋，她是靠着新西兰北岛上的几座活火山而建的，属于丘陵地形。奥克兰靠近北回归线，一年四季气温分明，气候也很宜人。全年的气温平均在5到17度之间。最高的气温出现在二月，大约在25度左右，最低气温出现在8月，大约在3度上下。即使在夏天，奥克兰的气温也维持在26-29度左右，不过需要注意的是早晚温差较大。
